Brooklea Beauties breeding program located on Brooklea farms in bath NY in the Southern Tier of New York is an in home, family run dog breeding program, our dogs are our pets as well, they live with us. Brooklea has been breeding Goldendoodles and Golden Retrievers since 2005 when Stacy got her first Golden Retrievers Ginger and Bolt and then Geddy.
We do not use nor condone the use of guardian homes for our breeding dogs. In guardian homes a breeder must trust that person to care for their dogs like family, that is rarely the case in those situations and often it becomes a litigation between breeder and "guardian home owner" for rights to the dog, that is treating them like property and here we treat them like FAMILY because they are!!
We know our Golden Retrievers, and Goldendoodles the best because they are our pets, our family, which makes us a giant leap above the rest, it also demonstrates that this is not about money but loving, caring families and amazing dogs!
On top of the love and personal devotion we put into each of our dogs we also keep Golden Retriever Puppies from our own litters which makes us privy to the full genetics of our adults, including ancestors and grandparents.
Our dogs have sound health and they are all service dog capable which is why we offer a 6 Year Health Guarantee. Brooklea Beauties Puppy Adoption process ensures our puppies get excellent homes where they are loved and cared for.
Brooklea Beauties began as Positive Pet Training in upstate New York in 2002 with our President, Stacy Albahari MS, CBCC-KA, Dip CBST. Stacy began working with dogs as a dog trainer and then later became a behavior consultant. Prior to breeding her first litter Stacy took Veterinary Science courses to learn about Canine reproduction and health to educate herself on the best practices, diseases, testing and caring for offspring.
In 2005 Stacy started "Golden Beauties" which was a Golden Retriever breeding program alongside her canine behavior consulting and private in home training sessions with clients that had dogs with behavior problems. Golden Beauties grew into Goldendoodle breeding when Stacy saw the desire for a low shed breed that was similar to the Golden Retriever, in 2009 Golden Beauties officially began breeding Goldendoodles (Driven to Doodles).
Golden Retrievers are Stacy's favorite breed of dog and the Goldendoodle was a way to spread the gentle disposition of the Golden Retriever to people who needed a low shedding dog for therapy, service or emotional support, thew low shedding qualities allowed these dogs to be capable of traveling with their owners.
in 2022 Stacy, Steve & Dillon outgrew their home in Hilton and needed a larger residence with more room for their animals so they bought Brooklea Farms in Bath, NY. Because Brooklea Farms had such a rich and fruitful history in Steuben County they decided to keep the name Brooklea and named the breeding program Brooklea Beauties on Brooklea Farm LLC. Brooklea Farm LLC will be restored to the cattle farm it once was in the upcoming years with hard work and dedication, currently Brooklea has Layer chickens and will be offering eggs in summer 2024, we will be raising beef cows in the summer 2024 and so much more to come!

Just as an FYI You should never visit breeders, stores with pets, dog parks, etc. when getting a puppy or with your new puppy. There are too many chances for communicable diseases as Immunity to parvo is not full until pups have received all vaccines which is 16 weeks so if a breeder allows visitation we would recommend not getting a puppy from them as the one you get could have contracted something from anyone that "visited". So be cautious!
As far as temperament, Stacy is a certified canine behavior consultant and a trainer for decades, we would never breed any dogs Stacy did not feel were of sound mind or health.

The Golden Retriever was developed in Britain in the 1800's specifically for retrieving game; the first person to have actually been credited with the coining of the breed was Sir Dudley Majoribanks (later referred to as Lord Tweedmouth), he began with Nous who was a yellow flat coated retriever in 1866 (Cairns 1999). In 1868 Nous was bred to Belle who was a Tweed Water Spaniel which was a favored retrieving dog at the time; Nous resembles the Golden Retrievers of today (Cairns 1999). The breeding of Nous and Belle produced 4 yellow colored pups named Ada, Crocus, Cowslip and Primrose; Cowslip was bred to Tweed (a Tweed Water Spaniel) and then bred to Sampson (a Red Setter) (Cairns 1999). In 1884 Jack (male from Samson and Cowslip) was bred to Zoe (Flat coated black Retriever whose sire was a flat coated Retriever and dam was Topsy daughter of Tweed and Cowslip) (Cairns 1999). The last breeding that Lord Tweedmouth entered was that of Nous (II) and Queenie, Queenie was a daughter to a black flat coated retriever and Gill who was from the same litter as Nous (II); two yellow colored pups were whelped from this pairing named Prim and Rose (Cairns 1999). Goldendoodle:
F1 means First Generation which is a direct cross between the Golden Retriever and Poodle. In our case for most of these pairings we use a Moyen Poodle giving us a medium sized puppy. Our F1 Mediums are typically 22-33" at the withers; our medium F1's are typically between 45 and 75 lbs full grown. We prefer the F1 generation as they carry the best traits of the Golden Retriever and the low to no shed qualities of the Poodle, we can select the best low shed match if there are special needs for extremely low shed. Remember all animals have dander, regardless if they shed or not, dander is what most people have allergies to, so if you have severe animal allergies a pet dog may not be a good idea.
